Bite my Tongue

Ok Well I am not going to beat around the bush about this one today, lets just say that today well, excuse my language but it has gone for a BALL OF SH!T!!!!!!!

I have had to bite my tongue, over and over again, wanting nothing more than to speak my mind when all I can do is keep quite, as the concequences I would have to face speaking my mind would be far worse than if i just keep quiet.

I have to be honest and say I  struggle with conflict, not that I cannot handle it but when I feel threatened my first and probably only instinct is to FIGHT back. To give as much as I get.

My tolerance level for stupidity is also extremely low, ESPECIALLY when it comes from someone in the workplace who is by far your senior when it comes to positions within the company.

So this whole episode made me think of a Christian son I heard long ago I cant remember the band or all the lyrics the piece that stood out for me was the following

” Too late, said another thing that I know would have hurt you Lord wanna bite my tongue”

“Sometimes my mouth is like this mercenary shooting off these words like a hired gun”

Those words were all i could think about today when I so desperately wanted to smack someone.  Oh and believe me given half the chance i probably would have, I never used to have ANY issue whatsoever punching someone in the face that sorry to say “P!SSES ME OFF”, yes yes I KNOW not very lady like of me.

So I got to thinking, surely there must be scriptures about this about dealing with anger and honestly what would JESUS do??

So this is what I found, I am sitting at work so have googled these scriptures:

• Cease from anger, and forsake wrath; Do not fret—it only causes harm (Psalms 37:8).
• A quick-tempered man acts foolishly, and a man of wicked intentions is hated (Proverbs 14:17).
• He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, but he who is impulsive exalts folly (Proverbs 14:29).
• A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger (Proverbs 15:1).
• He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city (Proverbs 16:32).
• The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression (Proverbs 19:11).
• Make no friendship with an angry man, and with a furious man do not go,
  Lest you learn his ways and set a snare for your soul (Proverbs 22:24-25).
• But I say to you that whoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment. And whoever says to his brother, ‘Raca!’ shall be in danger of the council. But whoever says, ‘You fool!’ shall be in danger of hell fire (Matthew 5:22).
• “Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:26-27).

So I have now realised that if I want to strive to be the person the LORD wants me to be I need to control my temper but more so my thoughts of ANGER, it is what pulls me down and makes me forget my my pact with the Lord.

So I will now try to count to 10 and bite my toungue, and soon it will become part of me and days like this will seem like a walk in the park, God Bless everyone.
